SPEAKER: DeLorean Q. Griffin M.D.
Dr. Griffin is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon and owns Griffin Plastic Surgery in West Bloomfield Township. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and focuses on breast and body contouring following massive weight loss. He also performs up to date breast reconstruction and complex reconstruction for trauma.
He completed his medical school education at Wayne State School of Medicine and his residency at the Detroit Medical Center. During his training he received the highest in-service exam score in his program two consecutive years in a row and was promoted to Chief Administrative Resident. He has won several awards including the Best Breast Reconstruction resident presentation at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Conference in 2014. Before starting his own practice, Dr. Griffin was a surgeon at St. Mary Hospital in Livonia, MI. Dr. Griffin also single handedly won the resident Jeopardy competition in Mackinac, MI.
Dr. Griffin was named an honoree for Michigan Chronicle's 40 Under 40 in 2017 and Men of Excellence in 2018. He has received recognition as a Top Doc in the field of plastic surgery in Detroit's Hour Magazine for 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Dr. Griffin is dedicated to educating residents and students in the field of plastic surgery and is active in the community and abroad. Dr. Griffin currently serves on the executive board of the Detroit Medical Society and is a financial member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
Dr. Griffin will present on the topic of gluteal augmentation. He will present background, history, technique, complications, and up to date statistics in regards to procedures. This will include both non-approved procedures such as black market silicone injections and approved procedures such as fat transfers also known as Brazilian butt lift. Intraoperative video footage will be shown highlighting operative technique performed by Dr. Griffin.
