In-Person - TOPIC: "Let's Hit the Books! A Diagnostic Coding Workshop"
October 23, 2026- Hosted by: Zone 3
In-Person, East Lansing at MSUFCU Headquarters 1
This interactive workshop will start with a presentation of an overview of overlooked and forgotten guidelines. How to use the neoplasm table and understanding EXCLUDES notes and “code first” and “also code” notations will be presented. Then, moving on to current payer problems, we will discuss the issues with various insurances you are currently dealing with.
The presenters will give tips for how to work with your providers in getting them to understand what coding specificity is and how coding it can be both beneficial and profitable to them. Lastly, hands on coding. Bring your tough examples of your coding challenges. Also bring your ICD-10-CM coding books (2026 edition preferably) to work on this interactive fun part.
